PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF BRIEF

Example of Practical Work mirroring the brief:

MAGAZINE:
I didn't feel I exceeded in this practical. I struggled with ordering the layout of this. I decided to try and keep the editing simple to increase verisimilitude and naturalism. I have centred the model to present power, reinforced by the name of the brand. The model is represented as an aspired prize almost, with the woman gazing up at him. The fact that the woman is in the corner reinforces the superiority presented by the main model.

RADIO SHOW:
I completed a 3 minute radio show example in which I targeted a wide and active younger audience with the incorporation of popular mainstream music and competitions to win prizes to examples like festivals. I also incorporated the brand identity from BBC Radio One in terms of jingles and plugs within the podcast to present a known example of a popular Radio station. I didn't think that I excelled in this idea personally, rather i enjoyed editing examples together, but prefer to create visual representations to reflect meaning as I find it difficult to create a concise script that fully adheres to the brief.

MUSIC VIDEO:
I enjoyed this practical significantly more through the ability to unpick a specific song and represent the meaning visually through different shot types and actor body language. In this example, I tried to create a contrast with the calming, natural rural location with the formality of the trumpet player and the box. This was to reflect the song through use of juxtapositions and postmodern representations of creating a self identity.

IDEA EXECUTION:

PANNING EXAMPLE:

PLAYING WITH SHOT TYPES:

The brief I have ultimately chosen to complete is the 3 minute music video brief, in which I can incorporate my interest of incorporating multiple shot types and attempt to complete a narrative strand within the music video that corresponds with the chosen song.
